How to Shape Your Eyebrows
There are multiple different eyebrow shapes. There is no such thing as one fits all. This guide line will help start you out in grooming your eyebrows into your personal perfect shape.
We are all born with unsymmetrical faces including supermodels, but they have make up artists who correct it. Even Angelina Jolie (below) has unsymmetrical features and therefore has to shape her eyebrows and do corrective makeup to distract from it. Some people have full or sparse eyebrows or even one eyebrow higher than the other. Groomed eyebrows give your face structure and more definition enhancing your features.
Analyze your face to see what you have and shape it according to your face shape and style. Hold back any negative thoughts – acceptance is primary and change secondary. From here you can adapt, improve and express.
This is to help you make the most of what you have.
Tools: mirror, decent lighting, tweezers, and a pen (anything that is straight and narrow).
Place pen along your nose vertically. Where it hits your eyebrow is where the head of the eyebrow should begin (check point 1 in diagram below). Anything beyond that you can tweeze or wax, etc. Do not tweeze the faint/fair colored hair. If you do too much they will begin to grow out thicker and darker.
Move pen diagonally from the corner of your nose and across over your eye while looking straight ahead. Where the pen falls on the eyebrow is where your arch is or should be. Look at point 2 in above picture.
Place the pen a bit more diagonally across to the corner of your eye (observe point 3). This is generally where the eyebrow should end. When you tweeze start little by little. Only pluck from below never above unless necessary.
Repeat on the other eyebrow. They should look like ‘sisters’ (only for the really pedantic persons can they be twins).
For further compare and contrast techniques; Place the pen horizontally directly below both of your eyebrows (like D but along both eyebrows crossing the bridge of your nose).
After following through this technique with the tweezing or other form of hair removal process, you can begin to add makeup to your eyebrows.
