How to Do Flicked Eyeliner
The simplest technique in how to achieve a perfect flick: the ‘step’
Great to do in short strokes, if hand unsteady. It also makes it easier to decide where the flick begins.
Use a thin pointy brush or angled brush.
Either start with doing a thin line along the lash line or start with the ‘step’ (flick). Judge with your eyes looking straight ahead where you want the flick to rise from. The longer the lines the longer or thicker the flick becomes.
The ‘step’: At the corner of your eye or a few lashes in draw a short vertical line. From the end of the recently drawn line draw a short horizontal line towards the temple.
The ‘wing’: From the edge of the horizontal line draw diagonally down towards where you started your first line. Step should now look more like a wing.
The ‘flick’: Draw diagonally from the top of the vertical line towards the lash line. Fill in the wing where needed.
Take your time. Perfection will come with practice but at least with the ‘step’ it will be ten times easier.
